BBC Radio Wiltshire & BBC Radio Gloucestershire are working with Prime Theatre to give you the chance to write a short radio play and get it broadcast on the radio and on BBC Sounds!
All you need to do is write a play set in Wiltshire or Gloucestershire, in any time period, with the theme of ‘home’. Home can mean whatever you see it as; a place to live, a feeling, a sound, a memory, a group of people, the end of a journey etc...

The Challenge
- Plays must be no longer than 2 minutes
- Plays must include no more than 2 voices (these can be of any age)
- Plays must be set in Wiltshire OR Gloucestershire at any location and in any time period
- Plays can be based on fact or fiction or a mixture of both
- Play must be original works and not adaptations of any other works
- No sound effects will be used. The time and location of each play will introduce each recording
Tips
- Choose a creative setting for your play eg,
~ druids carry out a health and safety briefing while building Stonehenge
~ seagulls look down on visitors from the top of Gloucester Cathedral
~ a barmaid’s ghost serves a pint on a Friday night at your local
- Read your script out to yourself at a pace you’d expect to hear it recorded.
- Only refer to sounds or music that are absolutely key to the action
